Sisters Marianne and Christine have been estranged for a year when they learn of the death of their father, who wasn’t exactly an angel. Both a comedy and a road movie, Merci pour tout (Thanks for Everything) tells of their trip to the Magdalen Islands to spread his ashes and escape their personal problems, without realizing that they carry both, literally and figuratively, with them.
Canadian writer-director Louise Archambault first gained recognition with her short ATOMIC SAKÉ, which toured the world and won many awards, including the Jutra for Best Short Film. Her feature GABRIELLE was Canada’s selection for both the 2014 Oscars and Golden Globes and won the audience award at Locarno. In 2014, Louise was voted Personality of the Year in the Arts and Entertainment category by Radio-Canada.
