Description

"The European Dream" is a preliminary result of an ongoing project about the idea of a transeuropean channel (TV program or internet platform). The goals include countering nationalist tendencies and creating a space for debates across borders.

The following people are interviewed in the video:

Saskia Cluistra did research on Europa TV, a joint project by several European broadcasters that lasted from 1985 to 1986. She talks about how the channel was founded, what its program was and why it failed.

Daniel Freund is a member of the European Parliament. He also belongs to the task force for the Conference for the Future of Europe. He is convinced of the necessity of transeuropean media.

Magdalena Marsovszky is a cultural scientist who has written about nationalist culture politics in Hungary where freedom of the press is especially endangered.
