Gimmeh is a young illegal immigrant who fled from The Gambia to Germany. His life in a small town in Bavaria plods along until an event changes his life and the lives of those around him forever. Quietly and without agitation, MOLO tells a story of seeking refuge, political asylum, and a life defined by uncertainties between fragile normality and banal brutality. The film is an autobiographical treatment of the family history of the screenwriter and director, whose father himself fled from The Gambia to Germany in the 1990s.
