In MAGMA, director Julian Rabus searches for different narrative forms together with young actors. They proceed intuitively and methodically in a hybrid fictional-documentary way of working – without already knowing at the time of shooting where exactly the respective scenes will take them. Rabus sets the thematic focal points and brings the various constellations together, giving instructions to the scene or experimenting with different mechanisms. In the film, young adults meet in everyday situations: They fall in love, reveal themselves, feel ashamed, guilty, hurt, or act out for the others.
