The human in the forest. The human being who has been taken out of his actual environment in order to perhaps be able to redefine himself in a "natural" environment.
Sandra Mann stages people in the forest, in nature, and in a sense recreates them in the "un"-natural environment, giving them a new identity and a whole dignity and beauty of their own.
Sandra Mann is one of the most renowned artists and photographers in Germany. She uses a wide range of artistic forms of expression such as photography, installation, sculpture, video - she deals conceptually with the relationship of people to each other, to nature, the environment, wildlife or gender issues. Her work and teachings are shaped by the research into the fundamentals of photography, visual language, and image perception. She also curates exhibitions at home and abroad.
