Ruptures is a cinematic adaptation of the artists’ 5 channel video installation The Scar (2018), dealing with government-enforced disappearances. It is a feminist road movie inspired by a real car crash in Turkey. Names, scenes and locations are fictionalised through the use of Magical Realism.
Brad and Noor have been co-directing award-winning art film and video works for 23 years. Their awards include a nomination for the Film London Jarman Award in 2012, The Artes Mundi Award 2015, and the Artist Film International Award 2015. Their work has been commissioned by Artangel, the Hayward gallery, The Sydney Biennale, Film London, Film and Video Umbrella, the Serpentine Gallery and more. (photo credit: Emma Jane Richards)
